True Self Exercise

For the man who want’s to understand and live his real nature, the main question in his life is “Who am I?” It’s a sort of Koan useful for all those who perform this practice seriously and openly, to overcome for a moment all their identifications, masks, beliefs, social and even sexual labels to percieve his true nature: naked and unconditioned.  The result of the attempt to answer to this question it’s the awakening on what we really are naked and deconditioned. If we ponder about this question everyday for ten to fiften minutes at least, we can expand the prception of our real nature in our everyday life.

Here’s the exercise:

We start this pactice saying all the ways we label ourselves, what ordinary describes what we think we are:

1.    I am (my name).
2.    I am (my work position, social status, etc.).
3.    I am (my life experiences).
4.    I am (my thoughts, or the thinking mind).
5.    I am (my soul or spirit).

The practitioner will find that all these labels are just roles he is playing at this time. After have pronced every statement, he must leave it as irrelevant and start to a new statement. Once he remains without any description about himself, he perceive a state of emptiness or something similar, a quite and immutable place, free from the conditionings of the past and from the hopes or the belifes of the future settled in the present moment . He will mantain this state saying mentally “I Am” declaring that this state represents his true nature, his real self.

About mr Sarmoung

Andrea Dandolo je pisac i istražitelj razvoja svijesti i duhovnosti uključen u razotkrivanje drevnih učenja s ciljem olakšavanja unutarnjeg razvoja ljudskih bića.
